Event Details and Privacy Policy
The “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Online Challenge: Winter Clash 2024” is a thrilling online showdown happening within the renowned Nintendo Switch game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This engaging event is orchestrated by Nintendo of Europe SE, based in Frankfurt, Germany.
Event Period and Locations
Mark your calendars for Friday, December 6th, when the event kicks off from 18:00 to 20:00 CET (or 17:00 to 19:00 UK time). This competition is open to players from a plethora of countries, including Austria, Belgium, and Italy, among others. However, to ensure smooth gameplay, participants from regions like the Azores and Svalbard might face some geographical limitations.
Participation
Ready to join the brawl? You’ll need a Nintendo Account set to one of the participating countries and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. Don’t worry about the type of membership—both free trials and paid subscriptions are welcome. Simply access the game on your Nintendo Switch, dive into the “Online” section, and hit “Official Tourney Qualifiers” on the main menu to jump in.
Tourney Score
As competitors face off, they’ll be gunning for the highest Tourney score, a special rating unique to these events. It assesses a player’s skills based on match outcomes, taking into account the skill levels of their opponents too. Players can keep an eye on their Tourney score anytime during the event right within the game.
Participants can engage in as many matches as they want to boost their standings. Even matches that begin during the event period but conclude afterward will count towards the Tourney score.
Winners and Prizes
At the end of the day, the top 10 players with the highest scores will walk away with 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points each. Those rounding out the top 100 won’t be left empty-handed, as they’ll earn 1,000 Gold Points apiece.
However, changing your residence to a non-participating country or engaging in any form of misconduct, including exploiting bugs or cheats, can lead to disqualification. Such behavior could even lead to your Nintendo Account being suspended or terminated, as per the Nintendo Code of Conduct.
Prizes are as stated—non-transferable and not exchangeable for cash or any other options.
Delivery
Nintendo promises to credit the prizes directly to the winners’ Nintendo Accounts within two weeks after the event concludes. You can see your reward under the My Nintendo Point Log once you’re logged in.
