OneXPlayer has unveiled their latest innovation, the X1 Pro, which boasts a versatile 3-in-1 design and harnesses the power of AMD’s Strix Point APUs. Following in the footsteps of the F1 Pro and Ayaneo 3, the X1 Pro is among the pioneers in utilizing AMD’s Zen 5 Strix Point APUs, positioning itself as a formidable rival to GPD’s upcoming Pocket 4 mini-laptops.
This new entrant from OneXPlayer is not just a handheld device; it effortlessly transforms between a laptop, a tablet, and a gaming handheld. Similar to the Pocket 4, the X1 Pro is equipped with the potent Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. This powerhouse features a 12-core setup consisting of four Zen 5 and eight Zen5c cores in a dual-CCX configuration, alongside a generous 12MB L2 cache and 24MB L3 cache. It also impresses with a 5.1 GHz boost clock. On the graphical front, the Radeon 890M iGPU with its 16 Compute Units has got you covered. Thanks to AMD’s XDNA 2, the embedded NPU on the HX 370 cranks out a stunning 50 TOPS of AI performance.
Visually, the device shines with a 10.95-inch, 120Hz LTPS display, likely IPS, sporting a crisp 2560×1600 (2.5K) resolution. The screen isn’t just detailed but vibrant too, covering 138% of the sRGB color space, while reaching a brightness level of 540 nits. Storage is customizable, ranging from 1TB to a whopping 4TB, offering read speeds up to 7.1 GB/s and write speeds up to 6.5 GB/s, all in the 2280 form factor. Plus, for those who need extra space, a handy MicroSD card slot is included.
The X1 Pro’s battery stands at 65.02Wh, promising around eight hours of juice, though, realistically, a 28W configuration may shorten this to about two hours. A 100W Gallium Nitride charger ensures you’re powered up quickly. Connectivity features are top-notch with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
Moreover, the device’s controller sports hall-effect RGB joysticks designed to minimize stick drift. In terms of input/output options, it includes two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink interface, a MicroSD card slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a standard 3.5mm audio jack.
For those interested, pre-orders are open today, offering a chance to grab the X1 Pro at a reduced early bird price. Shipments are scheduled to kick off on January 3rd, with a public demonstration set for CES 2025 next month where it will be showcased alongside other devices from OneXPlayer.
