Over the last twenty years, the Halo franchise has seen more than its fair share of memorable collaborations across various games. It all began in 2005 when Spartan-458 was introduced as a playable character in Dead or Alive 4. Since then, the floodgates opened wide. We’ve seen Halo skins popping up in Minecraft, the Arbiter joining the roster in Killer Instinct Season 3, and even Halo characters like Master Chief gracing Super Bomberman R alongside the Arbiter and Grunt. Gears 5 brought in familiar faces from Halo: Reach, like Kat and Emile. And in recent years, big names like Fortnite, Fall Guys, Brawlhalla, and Rainbow Six Siege have embraced the Halo universe through themed cosmetics.
Interestingly, most of Halo’s crossovers have been brief affairs, with games typically partnering with the sci-fi giant just once. However, Forza Horizon stands out as a delightful exception. This racing series has repeatedly revisited the Halo universe, most recently with its latest installment, Forza Horizon 5.
Now, let’s dive into the Halo-themed escapades within Forza Horizon 5.
### Every Forza Horizon 5 x Halo Crossover So Far
#### Forza Horizon 5 Added a Drivable Warthog in 2021
Forza Horizon’s collaboration with Halo dates back to 2016. With Forza Horizon 3, fans were treated to a fully drivable 2554 AMG Transport Dynamics M12S Warthog CST just a month after the game’s launch. Initially, this was available only to players with Halo 5: Guardians or Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The Warthog didn’t stop there; it roared back into action in Forza Horizon 4, accompanied by an exhilarating Halo-themed racetrack. Mirroring Halo 3’s iconic “Warthog Run,” players found themselves racing down beaches in Warthogs with Pelicans soaring overhead, all while the voice of Cortana, portrayed by Jen Taylor, urged them on.
Continuing the tradition, Forza Horizon 5 once more featured the Warthog, available for 850,000 in-game credits. It quickly became a fan-favorite among the game’s off-road options.
#### Forza Horizon 5 Added Over 70 Halo Props in November 2024
November 2024 marked the celebration of two significant anniversaries: Halo 2’s 20th and the Master Chief Collection’s 10th. To honor these milestones, Forza Horizon 5 expanded its EventLab map creator with 71 distinct Halo-themed props. While some elements borrowed from Forza Horizon 4’s Halo racetrack, the majority came straight from Halo’s own Forge mode.
This standout crossover unleashed a plethora of hallmark Halo elements into Forza Horizon 5. Fans could now play around with Covenant deployable shields, drop pods, varied Forerunner constructions, and light bridges, among others. The addition also included UNSC weapons crates, grounded Warthogs and Pelicans, and even the stone rings showcased in Halo Infinite’s reveal trailer. Players were given the tools to create their dream Halo racetracks.
Furthermore, two brand-new Halo-themed skyboxes were added, each depicting an array from the Halo universe, one under the bright sun and the other under a starry night. Forza Horizon 5’s radio stations weren’t left out either, boasting tracks like the Halo 2: Anniversary theme and the iconic Halo ‘Gungir Mix’, alongside themes from Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 5: Guardians.
For fans of both the Forza series and Halo, these crossovers have brilliantly fused two beloved franchises, offering fresh and thrilling in-game experiences.
