Elden Ring’s seamless co-op mod, famous for enhancing multiplayer experience, was a game-changer thanks to modder Yui. This time, they’re bringing their expertise to Dark Souls 3.
FromSoftware’s unique approach to online multiplayer has been both a blessing and a curse. While it’s meant to ease the solo journey by letting a fellow traveler join your quest, it often turns into a hassle when you just want to play with friends. That’s where Yui steps in, renowned for their seamless co-op mod in Elden Ring and Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. Now, Yui is working on developing a similar mod for Dark Souls 3, ensuring a smoother cooperative experience.
Yui recently shared a glimpse of the mod in action through a video with a friend exploring Lothric Castle. A heads-up for those who haven’t ventured into the game yet—the footage is peppered with spoilers. The video highlights how this mod eliminates multiplayer restrictions, maintaining connections even after a character’s death. It promises uninterrupted gameplay from the start to the conclusion of the game with synchronized progress, no need for resummoning, and the choice to toggle invasions. You can even adjust the difficulty of enemies as per your preference. This mod seems to perfectly capture what players have been craving for.
As for when we can get our hands on it, there isn’t a release date just yet. So, patience will be key. Luckily, there’s more to look forward to with the upcoming Elden Ring: Nightreign set to release this year. It will feature built-in seamless co-op, aligning well with its focus on boss-centric roguelite elements.
