The team over at Combat Waffle, known for their riveting work on “Ghosts of Tabor,” is gearing up for the release of their next big thing: “Silent North.” Scheduled to hit early access on Quest and Steam this March, this VR shooter is ready to throw players into the intense world of multiplayer zombie survival like never before.
Backed by Beyond Frames Entertainment, “Silent North” transports you to the breathtaking yet perilous Swiss Alps. Here, the challenge is not only about surviving countless zombies but also outsmarting other players who are just as eager to snag whatever gear they can find. It’s a fight for survival where alliances can be made, or you can choose to brave the horrors alone, ever on the lookout for supplies while fending off an “endless stream of hungry corpses,” according to the creators.
The game’s description paints a vivid picture: “Chock-full of PVPVE excitement, you’re never too far from an encounter—be it with fellow players or the undead. Whether perched on a mountain or roaming the plains, every moment is dripping with adrenaline-fueled firefights. Surviving means either eluding your enemies or besting them in the wild, but always be cautious; stealthy opponents might be lurking, ready to ambush.”
For those eager to get a head start, “Silent North” is now open for pre-orders on the Horizon Store at a tempting price of $17, down from its usual $20. If you’re on Steam, you can add it to your wishlist today, ensuring you’ll benefit from the same 15% launch discount.
As for its wider release, while we’re looking at an early access debut in March on Steam and the Horizon Store, fans with PSVR 2 and Pico headsets will have to wait a bit longer for their turn. It’s still unclear when these platforms will join the fray.
In an update on February 21st, 2024, the studio confirmed that while March is definitely the target month for release, the exact date remains unannounced.
