Imagine a nostalgic wave of summer fun with the highly anticipated Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 remake arriving on July 11th. PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC will all get to enjoy this revival. Gamers who choose to pre-order the digital deluxe edition can dive in three days early, enjoying exclusive Doom crossover content and access to the Foundry Demo.
Activision had been dropping subtle hints about this remake for weeks. They cleverly placed a countdown in the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Grind map and offered discounts on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 across all major platforms. Originally released in 2001 and 2002, the third and fourth entries of the Tony Hawk series have been eagerly awaited by a new generation seeking a blend of nostalgia and modern game design.
This buzz began back in 2020 with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 remake, which was met with praise and an impressive score of 89 on OpenCritic. Its beloved soundtrack transported players back to the late ’90s and early 2000s. Unfortunately for fans, the studio behind that revival, Vicarious Visions, merged with Blizzard Entertainment, becoming Blizzard Albany to support Diablo 4 development. This merger dimmed hopes for a sequel, leading many to believe Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 would never be revitalized.
But fast forward, and hope is back on the horizon. Activision’s official reveal teases a July release, with a trailer showcasing thrilling locales like an airport, a cruise ship, and a medieval-themed water park. This remake is helmed by Iron Galaxy Studios, known for supporting Vicarious Visions with the Pro Skater 1 + 2 project.
Excitement builds as players who pre-order the digital deluxe edition get a sneak peek on July 8th, complete with Doom-themed goodies like the Doom Slayer and Revenant Skaters, the Unmaykr hoverboard, and plenty of in-game music and apparel. Both standard and deluxe pre-orders grant Foundry Demo access, though its release date remains unannounced. This demo will feature two skaters, double the parks, and a slice of the incredible soundtrack.
Prepare to jump back into the skate park! Tony Hawk’s fans, mark your calendars. Pro Skater 3 + 4 hits Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch on July 11. In the meantime, keep tabs on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Activision’s social media to catch the latest updates, including when you can test out the Foundry Demo. Get ready to relive the thrill of classic skating entertainment reimagined with a fresh twist!
