Hold onto your controllers! 2XKO has just dropped some juicy tidbits on social media that have turned this month from ordinary to electrifying. Granted, we’re talking about an announcement for a forthcoming update video, but hey, we’ll take any excuse for excitement. This means we’ll soon get a comprehensive breakdown on what’s changing in the game, including all the details on Jinx and the upcoming Alpha Lab test.
The man bringing us this news? None other than Ben Forbes, 2XKO’s editor-in-chief. His Twitter post gives us the lowdown: “Just finished filming the next 2XKO update! We’re tackling editing, production, and localization now, but here’s a sneak peek: expect an in-depth look at our gameplay changes since Alpha Lab 1 (yes, featuring Jinx!), details on Alpha Lab 2, and a showmatch with our dev team.”
The Twitter thread goes on, “We’re diving deep, so it’s shaping up to be a pretty lengthy update (probably around an hour?). We’re aiming to release this during the last week of March. We’re stepping up our game, though we’re not quite ready for PowerPoint livestreams… yet!”
However, before you let your imagination run wild, Ben tempered expectations by clarifying there will be no new character reveals this time around. So, hold off on any bets for now!
Backtrack to last year: The 2XKO team left fans with a cliffhanger, promising fresh updates by February. But game director Shaun Rivera, connecting via Twitter, had a slightly different tune. He mentioned some big changes, including an adjustment in scope for the upcoming Alpha Labs test and a fresh fuse to light up the game.
Apparently, some internal shifts over at Riot along with revamped plans for the Alpha Lab tests have nudged the February update to this month. Nevertheless, with the game poised for a 2023 release, we’re eager to receive the latest scoop about what’s happening, what’s in development, and hopefully catch some hints about the next big 2XKO revelation.
