Did you manage to secure a pre-order for the Nintendo Switch 2? If you’re among the fortunate ones, there’s some exciting news for you: Sonic is joining the lineup of characters slated for launch day. SEGA has revealed that “SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS” will hit the shelves on June 5th.
Sonic will be joining the ranks alongside “Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut” and “Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S” as part of the Nintendo Switch 2’s launch day titles. You can now pre-order both physical and digital versions of all three games.
“SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS” offers players the chance to step into Shadow’s shoes in a brand-new story campaign. With unique abilities that highlight why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form, this title also includes a fully remastered version of the much-loved “Sonic Generations.” Enjoy a time-traveling adventure featuring Sonic’s top stages from both 3D and 2D perspectives, now with enhanced visuals and additional bonus content.
In “Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S,” prepare yourself for thrilling puzzle action. There’s a new “Puyo Tetris Doubles” mode, which allows 2v2 battles on a single board, perfect for executing powerful combos. The game includes numerous local and online modes for up to four players, and features a roster of 40 playable characters, including Sonic himself, each with unique stats and abilities.
“Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut” marks the ultimate edition of the beloved origin story from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Yakuza series, now optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2. This enhanced release features new story scenes, a fresh “Red Light Raid” online multiplayer mode—where players can team up to battle against enemy hordes—and adds English and Chinese voice-overs, along with subtitles in French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.
In addition, pre-orders are open for “RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army,” set to release on June 19th. Keep an eye out for “Two Point Museum,” which is joining the lineup later this year.
