Amiibo for Tears of the Kingdom

Nintendo recently revealed some exciting news for fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Two years since the game first hit the shelves, players can look forward to five fresh amiibo figurines. These updates were announced alongside details of the Nintendo Switch 2, which promises enhancements for games like Tears of the Kingdom, making the most of the new console’s graphic capabilities.

The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is designed to be backward compatible with many current Switch games. But that’s not all; it will also boost key titles with enhanced graphics and additional features. Tears of the Kingdom is among the beneficiaries of this upgrade, supported by these new amiibo.

Nintendo shared that the amiibo figurines will represent the Sages who aid Link on his quest, namely Tulin, Yunobo, Riju, Sidon, and Mineru. The first four are slated to launch on June 5, aligning with the debut of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its game enhancements. Meanwhile, Mineru’s amiibo, fashioned after her construct form, will arrive a bit later.

For those curious about what to expect, these new amiibo can be scanned within the game to unlock various items. Although the specifics aren’t detailed yet, players can anticipate in-game bonuses like weapons, materials, and a fabric for Link’s paraglider. As for the price, they’re likely to fall in the usual range of $20-30, but Mineru’s potentially more elaborate design might come at a higher cost.

Aside from the Zelda amiibo, Nintendo also confirmed its ongoing commitment to these collectibles. Notably, Street Fighter enthusiasts will see new amiibo to mark the release of Street Fighter 6 on the Switch 2. This includes three figures and a whopping 22 cards, all available on the console’s launch day. Given the anticipation for these amiibo, savvy fans might consider pre-ordering to ensure they don’t miss out on these coveted items.
