April 2025 Update Released for The Last of Us 2 Remastered

Patch 2.0.1 is here to save players of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PS5 from a rather pesky problem. The previous update led to some folks losing key unlockable items, but this latest fix aims to restore those missing elements. If you’re hoping to found those lost treasures, make sure to load up a save from before April 3, 2025. That’s when the problematic Patch 2.0.0 originally hit consoles as the game made its debut on PC.

Just over a year after its initial release for the PS5, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered finally jumped over to PCs and did so with flying colors. While its launch on PS5 happened in January 2024, bringing tons of new content like fresh characters, maps, trophies, and cool Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet-inspired cosmetics, the launch came with an unfortunate hiccup – it reset some players’ unlockables. Fortunately, the developers have addressed this with the latest patch.

In a recent move, Naughty Dog rolled out Patch 2.0.1 to restore lost campaign unlockables on the PS5 version. It will recover items like skill points and an extra weapon holster for those who experienced losses after downloading the prior update. However, this only works if you have a save from before that tricky date in April. As previously cautioned, overwriting saves created after April 3 may leave you without these hard-earned items. Meanwhile, the team is focusing on getting back lost skins in the No Return mode.

As for the PC side of things, this version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has had a much smoother journey compared to its predecessor’s PC debut in 2023. Dodging the performance issues that plagued the earlier game, the sequel’s remaster has been welcomed with open arms and now boasts impressive reviews on Steam, with feedback from nearly 4.9K players.
