ASRock is gearing up to launch its Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs, with some tantalizing glimpses of their forthcoming Steel Legend and Taichi custom models already making waves online.
ASRock’s custom GPU models for the RX 9070 series have been spotted ahead of their official debut, showcasing some pretty attractive SKUs. It looks like the company is set with a robust lineup of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, especially the Radeon RX 9070 and the RX 9070 XT. While we’re still waiting for “official” visuals from other AIB partners, ASRock has taken the spotlight with its three distinct series: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger.
Starting with the Taichi, this series appears to be ASRock’s flagship entry. It boasts an impressive triple-fan design along with a hefty heatsink, making it a three-slot card—quite a statement piece.
What makes the Taichi variant particularly captivating is its inclusion of a 12V-2×6 power connector. Not every model will have this feature, as AMD has given its AIB partners the flexibility to decide based on each model’s power needs. This connector can deliver up to 600W of power, indicating that the Taichi will have some serious horsepower and overclocking prowess.
Moving on to the Steel Legend variant, it seems ASRock is targeting the mid-range market with this option. It’s available in sleek white and silver hues and comes with a 2.5-slot triple-fan setup. Unlike the Taichi, this variant sticks with a 2x 8-pin connector, which is expected to be the norm for most of AMD’s AIB models, aside from some of the more high-end options like the Taichi series.
As for when these exciting new models will hit the shelves, it’s a good guess they’ll be available next week. That’s when the word on the street says AMD is planning to start pre-orders for its RX 9070 series GPUs.
