Yesterday, Bigscreen opened up pre-orders for their eagerly anticipated Beyond 2 PC VR headset, which promises enhanced visual clarity and a broader field-of-view thanks to its innovative pancake lens design. The response was overwhelming. Just 10 hours into the sale, Bigscreen announced that Beyond 2 had already surpassed the total sales of its predecessor, the original Beyond, by a considerable margin.
Bigscreen took to social media platform X to keep the VR community updated on the impressive performance of Beyond 2’s launch. The company noted, “In just the first 25 minutes, Beyond 2 outsold the entire first day of Beyond 1 sales. We doubled those numbers within the first hour,” they proudly shared.
As the day progressed, Bigscreen continued to release more insights into the sales success of both Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking counterpart, Beyond 2e. The figures shared were nothing short of remarkable.
“Within 10 hours of launch,” they stated, “Beyond 2 has sold more units than we did in the first four months of Beyond 1 sales.”
At the moment, Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e are expected to ship out by June 2025, having already sold out the initial April and May shipments. But what exactly is driving the buzz around Beyond 2? While you can delve into the details about Beyond 2’s specs elsewhere, a major draw appears to be the seamless upgrade path Bigscreen is offering. Owners of the original Beyond are eligible for a discount—$849 for Beyond 2 and $1049 for Beyond 2e—and the new model maintains compatibility with a range of Beyond 1 accessories, including the custom facial interface.
Beyond 2 introduces significant improvements with a new pancake lens design, delivering a wider 116-degree diagonal FOV, a handy adjustable IPD mechanism, and a lightweight build at just 107g. The 2e variant adds the bonus of AI-enhanced eye-tracking technology. Both models carry forward the impressive dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays from the original Beyond, but the upgraded lenses significantly enhance clarity and FOV.
Pricing for Beyond 2 and 2e is set at $1,019 and $1,219 respectively, with discounts available for current Beyond 1 owners. They were also introduced alongside a new halo-style mount and a Lightblocker facial interface, scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2025.
Everything is available for purchase on the Bigscreen website, offering VR enthusiasts another exciting leap into immersive technology.
