Boston-based game developer The Molasses Flood has officially been integrated into the Polish gaming powerhouse, CD Projekt Red. The announcement came through a post on The Molasses Flood’s website, revealing that as of April 1st, the studio is no longer operating independently and has become part of the team behind Cyberpunk 2077. Importantly, the merger won’t impact their previous titles, The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, which were developed before CD Projekt acquired them in 2021. Currently, The Molasses Flood is focusing on Project Sirius, a multiplayer game that will expand the universe of The Witcher series.
In a related development, Damian Isla, the founder of The Molasses Flood, chose to part ways with the studio. Expressing his thoughts on LinkedIn, he wrote, “This is obviously a significant transition. TMF has been a substantial chapter in my life for more than a decade. I’m extremely proud to have contributed to something that endured as long as it did, especially in a market that can often be challenging for small teams like ours. We created some truly beautiful, memorable, and unique projects, and I had the privilege of collaborating with some of the most kind-hearted, generous, and skilled talents in the industry.”
