Yesterday, Sony lifted the curtain on the PS Plus December 2024 game lineup, part of their celebratory nod to PlayStation’s 30th anniversary. Many players, however, felt the selection fell short of their expectations. Interestingly, next month’s roster of Essential games features a title that had been removed from the PS Plus Extra lineup earlier this year, which means plenty of subscribers have already had their hands on it.
Fans Think PS Plus Missed the Mark in Celebrating the 30th Anniversary
The much-anticipated announcement revealed that for December 2024, PS Plus members can look forward to playing It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem. What caught the attention of many is It Takes Two, which was previously available on PS Plus Extra before being taken off earlier in the year.
Scrolling through feedback on the PS Blog, gaming forums, and social media, it’s clear that players aren’t necessarily complaining about the games themselves. Rather, they feel the choice of games could have been more exciting given the milestone celebration.
One subscriber didn’t mince words, stating, “This is the most corporate and uncaring attempt at an anniversary, especially a 30th, that I have ever seen.” Another felt so strongly that they commented for the first time, saying, “I usually avoid complaining online, but this selection is just disappointing.”
While the complete list for the PS Plus Extra and Premium members for December 2024 hasn’t been shared yet, Premium subscribers are assured of three cherished classics and an exclusive game trial to look forward to.
