Intel’s XeSS 1 technology has impressively expanded its reach, now boasting support in over 150 games, with even more titles anticipated in the near future. Meanwhile, the company is just beginning to roll out the next generation, XeSS 2.
Back when Intel first rolled out its Arc Alchemist GPU line, they introduced this innovative super-sampling technique. Although it’s been more than two years since its debut, XeSS has undergone significant evolution, culminating in the current XeSS 2.
Though XeSS 2 hasn’t yet gained widespread traction, its predecessor, XeSS 1, and its latest updates have been successfully integrated into a plethora of games. In fact, Intel has proudly shared that XeSS now enhances over 150 games, with plans to broaden that reach further.
For those interested, there’s a comprehensive list showcasing games that incorporate XeSS technology, featuring numerous popular AAA titles. However, when compared to AMD’s FSR or NVIDIA’s DLSS, XeSS still has a journey ahead in terms of competition.
Recently, Intel Gaming announced via Twitter their achievement of integrating XeSS into over 150 games, hinting at more to come. They encourage gamers to experience this AI-powered upscaling for a superior gaming experience.
While Intel is steadily catching up with its competitors, there’s still ground to cover. Notably, most supported games are equipped with XeSS 1, while only a select few—such as F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals—currently support XeSS 2. However, exciting updates are on the horizon, with upcoming titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3 set to incorporate the latest XeSS 2 technology.
Moreover, some games also leverage Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation, though it’s less prevalent compared to FSR and DLSS Frame Gen. It’s important to note that both XeSS 2 and Frame Generation require Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPUs—of which only the Arc B580 and Arc B570 have been released, albeit with limited availability.
