Since Iron Meat hit the gaming scene in September, the creative minds over at Retroware haven’t taken a breather. They’ve been busy brainstorming and developing some exciting new content updates for this modern classic!
First off, brace yourself because the first major enhancement is now live on Xbox! This update is packed with fresh features that gamers won’t want to miss.
### Mirror, Mirror
Among the most anticipated additions is Mirror Mode—where players get to tackle every level with a twist: moving from right to left. It sounds simple, but this change transforms the game into a completely new adventure. You’ll only unlock this mode after completing the game on any difficulty level, adding an extra layer of challenge for seasoned players.
### Red Rapid Fire
Next up is a game-changer in terms of firepower—the automatic Supercharge upgrade, a third-tier for weapon upgrades. When this perk is active, all your projectiles take on an intimidating red hue. Even if you’re already slinging green or blue bullets, snagging a third upgrade of your weapon will unleash the Supercharge, boosting your rate of fire and ensuring your bullets stand out in a sea of meaty chaos.
### My 1UPs, Thank You
This update brings another welcome change: stockpiling those extra lives. Now, any additional lives you collect throughout a level are yours to keep, carrying over into the next stage. Say goodbye to that frustrating reset of your life count!
### Visual Enhancements to Level Backgrounds
We’ve amped up the immersion factor by enriching some of the game’s level backgrounds. The helicopter swoops down, raining fire on Meat monsters in the Forest stage, spikes now lurk around the midboss in the Base, and more. Plus, you’ll notice Meat meteors making explosive impacts on the Train stage, all serving to deepen the storyline’s narrative without speaking a word.
### Other Updates
Beyond these standout features, we’ve rolled out some other handy tweaks. The “E”, “U”, and “M” guns now pack a bit more punch. More Meat now populates sections of the Moon Base, and we’ve redesigned the patterns in the MI-24 helicopter boss fight to boost clarity. Across the board, level adjustments aim to be fairer to players—take joy in the fact that Meat worms on Base now snuff out as soon as they appear, and other annoyances have been rectified for a smoother experience.
Overall, these updates are just a teaser of what’s on the horizon for Iron Meat fans. Rest assured, more game-enhancing content is lined up, so stay tuned! Iron Meat is available now, ready to challenge and entertain you like never before.
