There’s been a bit of buzz in the air about a delay in the release of the RTX 5060 series GPUs. Initially, they were expected to roll out in March and hit the shelves in April. But now, recent reports say we’ll need to wait a bit longer.
Word from internal sources indicated that NVIDIA’s board partners have been informed about pushing back the dates for the RTX 5060 series launch. Although NVIDIA hasn’t officially confirmed these rumors, it wouldn’t be surprising if they turn out to be true. The earlier delays were thought to stem from bugs and supply hiccups, but those issues remain speculative since NVIDIA hasn’t given a direct acknowledgment.
According to Board Channels, NVIDIA communicated via email to all AIC partners, letting them know of the impending delay in the release of the RTX 5060 Ti / 5060 series. The RTX 5060 Ti is now projected to arrive around mid-April, while the RTX 5060 is expected about a month later, in mid-May. Exact launch dates are still under wraps, even for their board partners.
Adding to the excitement, the simultaneous release of both cards might align closely with AMD’s rollout of their RX 9060 series, which includes the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 variants. These AMD cards will come in both 8 GB and 16 GB options, placing them directly in competition with NVIDIA’s upcoming models. While we’re still in the dark about AMD’s exact launch dates, there’s chatter that they, too, are aiming for a second-quarter debut.
As for the specifics, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is NVIDIA’s anticipated follow-up to the RTX 4060 Ti, coming equipped with 4608 CUDA Cores, 8 or 16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 180W. Its sibling, the RTX 5060, is set to succeed the RTX 4060, boasting 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. A recent leak suggested a 12 GB VRAM version of the RTX 5060 might be in the works, but that’s still up in the air. Should it materialize, it could potentially give NVIDIA an edge over AMD’s RX 9060, which is rumored to only include the 8 GB configuration.
