PowerColor has just upped the ante by introducing two fresh Radeon RX 9070 XT models under its Hellhound and Reaper series, which are now featured on their official website.
Building on the success of its Red Devil Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU, PowerColor has rolled out these new models, acclaimed for their exceptional cooling capabilities. As one of AMD’s prominent partners, they’re adding more firepower to the RDNA 4 lineup. If you’ve been tracking the RDNA 4 trajectory, you’ll know that PowerColor’s RX 9000 series made quite the splash at CES. Up until recently, the only model listed on their website was the Red Devil rendition, famously tagged as the fastest in their collection.
The arrival of the Hellhound Radeon RX 9070 XT had been anticipated since PowerColor teased its existence weeks ago. We were also privy to the impending launch of the Reaper series prior to CES. Though whispers about these cards have circulated, they’re not available for purchase just yet. Eagle-eyed enthusiasts over at Videocardz spotted the Hellhound and Reaper models on PowerColor’s website, which gave us a glimpse into their designs.
While official specs from AMD or any partners haven’t been unveiled, let’s delve into the Hellhound’s appearance:
Simple yet sophisticated, the Hellhound RX 9070 XT displays a three-fan setup complemented by a sizeable heatsink. It fits the 2.5-slot card profile and proudly sports the recognizable Hellhound emblem on two of its fans. However, the PowerColor logo on the center fan offers a new twist from what we’ve seen on the RX 7900 XTX. Users can expect four output ports, consisting of three DisplayPorts and one HDMI.
Turning to the Reaper Radeon RX 9070 XT, this model is distinguished by its rounded edges and straightforward, unassuming shroud. It also houses three fans and shares the 2.5-slot card design with similar I/O as the Hellhound variant. The main divergence lies in the boost clock speeds, with the Hellhound anticipated to have the upper hand.
As of now, PowerColor hasn’t provided the detailed specifications for any RX 9070 XT cards, and it appears we might have to wait longer than initially thought. AMD has slated the official release for March, indicating that a specs reveal isn’t just around the corner. According to AMD, they require additional time to fine-tune their software stack to enhance the RX 9000’s performance, hence the postponed debut.
