Snap, the tech company best known for Snapchat, is becoming a favorite among students and educators with its latest move—offering a substantial discount on their newest Spectacles AR Glasses. These advanced glasses, originally priced at $1,200, are now more accessible thanks to an educational discount that chops the price in half.

Having debuted back in September 2024, the fifth-generation Spectacles, dubbed Spectacles ’24, are primarily geared toward developers and come with a price tag of $100 per month for a year-long commitment. Snap introduced these AR glasses with some major advancements over their 2021 predecessor. The Spectacles ’24 boast a larger field of view, enhanced resolution, and now feature hand-tracking technology along with an updated software stack.
