Fast Travel Games has dropped a fresh update today for its VR shooter, Action Hero (2024), drawing inspiration from the iconic Superhot. This update introduces a spine-chilling new level and spices things up with an arcade game mode.
This complimentary update gifts players the eerie ‘Cult of Darkness’ level, available on Quest headsets from version 2 upwards. As an added bonus, the arcade game mode is exclusive to Quest 3 and 3S users.
In this haunting Cult of Darkness level, players find themselves immersed in a thrilling mission, fending off new adversaries like zombies, and getting their hands on additional weapons, as Fast Travel promises.
Taking the excitement a notch higher, the Arcade mode on Quest 3 invites players to test their shooting prowess and chase top scores across the pre-existing levels. The developers have also revamped the visual effects and user interface to enhance the gaming experience.
Here’s a rundown of the exciting features introduced today by Fast Travel:
-
6 Core Movies & 6 Director’s Cuts: Dive into an array of modern action adventures — from breaking into enemy strongholds for a daring heist to navigating ancient ruins. After conquering the main missions, get ready for the Director’s Cut sessions where fresh, challenging, and even quirky scenarios await.
-
Comfortable, Cinematic Design: Engage in stationary combat where you can showcase your moves over button mashing. The game’s slow-motion pace allows for stylish confrontations.
- Weekly Shot Challenge & Other Features: Hone your skills for the ultimate high scores, embark on a quest to uncover hidden collectibles, or simply enjoy with the Relaxed Mode. The Weekly Shot Challenge also lets you tackle a mix of four random acts in one movie, vying for the bragging rights of the top score.
Originally launched in December as a Quest exclusive, Action Hero offers exhilarating shootouts across levels that pay homage to classic movie genres, all unfolding in mesmerizing slow motion.
Offered at an affordable price point of $20, this game has been a hit on the Horizon Store, securing a commendable 4.7 out of 5-star rating from around 150 reviews.
