The team at ZeniMax Online Studios has recently come together to establish a union. This development was made possible through the efforts of the Communication Workers of America, who shared the news that 461 employees have united under this initiative. These employees span across various states including California, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin. The group comprises a diverse range of professionals, such as web developers, designers, engineers, and graphic artists.
John Hartzell, who is a principal economy designer and proud member of the union, expressed his enthusiasm by saying, “Today, I am truly proud of my coworkers at ZeniMax Online Studios. We are part of the growing movement of video game workers who are using their collective power to bring more stability to our industry. No matter where you’re from, what your role is, or which studio you belong to, unions are here to make things better for all of us.”
Senior motion graphics artist Alyssa Gobelle also shared her thoughts, stating, “By uniting and forming a union, we’re making a significant leap toward securing a brighter future for ourselves and our families. It’s about creating safeguards against layoffs and workplace exploitation, and offering extra layers of support beyond what FMLA and existing workplace policies provide. At ZeniMax, we believe that unions are an essential part of our work environment.”
