Title Update 1.2 for "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora" has just dropped, bringing with it some exciting new features, including support for the PlayStation 5 Pro, and resolving a host of issues players have faced. Plus, the latest paid expansion pack, "Secret of the Spires," is finally here.
Massive Entertainment, the game’s developer, released this update in anticipation of the game’s upcoming first anniversary. “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora,” inspired by James Cameron’s seminal sci-fi film series, offers an engaging open-world experience. Since its debut on December 7, 2023, Ubisoft has continuously enhanced the game through updates that not only fix issues but also add new features. The recent update continues this trend by introducing a new region and implementing a comprehensive list of bug fixes.
On November 28, the same day as the much-anticipated release of the "Secret of the Spires" expansion, Title Update 1.2 went live. Initially scheduled for November 26, the expansion’s release was delayed slightly due to a last-minute technical snag. Now available, this paid DLC enriches the game with a fresh campaign in the Spires of the Clouded Forest, introducing more quests, skills, and gear for players to enjoy.
A significant part of this update is the integration of PlayStation 5 Pro support for the game. The new console allows players to explore Pandora in glorious detail at 60 frames per second in Quality Mode. While the regular PS5 only manages half that frame rate, the PS5 Pro ups the ante with better rendering resolutions, thanks to PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This AI-driven upscaling tech enhances image quality even for games not specifically designed to support the PS5 Pro.
Additionally, the update allows players to use skill points to unlock and enhance abilities for the flying Ikran mount. A series of technical fixes have also been applied, particularly addressing issues where players might receive rewards unexpectedly without completing specific quests.
The update requires approximately 24.32 GB of free space on PC, while PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users will need around 18 GB and 17.5 GB, respectively.
