Insomniac Games has recently addressed the eager fans who’ve been persistently asking for updates about Marvel’s Wolverine on the PS5. The game developer made it clear that any news about the game will be shared only when the team feels it’s the right moment. They emphasized that no amount of pressure will rush their decision to release new information.
When discussing their update strategies, Insomniac Games is firm in handling things on their own timeline. For instance, a tweet about the Spider-Man 2 PC port got a response from a follower, expressing frustration over what they perceived as neglect of PS5 players who are eagerly awaiting news about Wolverine. The follower’s comment included a sarcastic jab: “Such a great team,” they wrote.
Normally, Insomniac Games doesn’t reply to such tweets, but this time they chose to engage. “We’ll share news about the game when we are ready to share it,” they clarified, highlighting the word “we” for emphasis. They added, “That will always be our answer. We can’t act on every request since things take time, resources, and require the proper go-ahead to be revealed.”
Despite the pressure, Insomniac was keen to reassure everyone that Wolverine is in active development. Towards the close of 2023, the studio faced a tough situation with a significant ransomware attack, leading to a substantial leak of Wolverine’s alpha footage. The team expressed their disappointment regarding the leak but assured fans that this incident hasn’t derailed the development process or altered their plans for the game’s release.
Marvel’s Wolverine was initially announced in September 2021, but since then, there haven’t been any major bulletins. In the gaming world, extended development periods are becoming quite standard, so it might be some time before we get a glimpse of the gameplay in action.
