Xbox Insiders just got a treat: the ability to stream their owned games on consoles using Xbox Cloud Gaming. This new update lets them enjoy some of the top titles available through Game Pass. While the lineup of compatible games hasn’t expanded, those insiders with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can now stream certain games on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
Microsoft Elevates Xbox Cloud Gaming Experience for Insiders
Now available to those in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha preview rings, this enhancement allows streaming for 50 non-Game Pass games via Xbox Cloud Gaming. According to an announcement on Xbox Wire, these insiders can now stream their owned titles across various platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PCs, smartphones, and tablets, spanning 28 countries. To take part in this, they’ll need an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Originally, console streaming wasn’t expected until next year, making this a pleasant surprise for users. If you’re testing it out, you’ll notice a cloud gaming badge on supported games in your Xbox library, which you can filter via "Ready to play" and "Cloud gaming."
Microsoft assures us that launching games directly from the Store app and streaming within the Xbox app on Windows PC is also in the pipeline.
Last month, when this feature made its debut, Game Pass Ultimate members could stream some of their games through web browsers. The current roster includes around 50 games, with big names like Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 among them.
We’re eager to see this feature available to everyone, hopefully by 2025. How about you? Are you excited to stream some of your favorite Xbox Series X|S titles via Xbox Cloud Gaming? Let us know what you’re looking forward to!
